The original stamp duty freeze, which started in July 2020, has
already helped push house prices to a record high and sales to their highest
level in 13 years. So, it is no surprise that the extension has been welcomed
by agents across the UK.
As a result, the three months leading up to the new deadline of
June are set to be busy, as those who were struggling to complete before the deadline
now can, and new buyers start to come onto the market looking to take advantage
of the extra three months.
And while busy is good, it can also be risky for those agents that
do not have the right procedures in place to cope with the increased activity.
